So this is a little bit of a change up from the normal Positive Posts here. I’m not really sure where this is going, but every time I look at this photo I remember a time when I used to be crazy-insane and supper destructive. So many memories… I wish I could plug my brain in and watch the memories on a big screen. How funny would that be.

I’m on the right…

All I can think of is that when I have kids I want them to have as much fun as I did. I can only imagine the pain that means for me and the head ache, but it’s still fun to think about.

Here’s to my family and all the insane things we did.

  • Lego Mansions
  • Mud Pits
  • Tadpole Hunts
  • Jumping Bikes and Bleeding
  • Burning Stuff
  • Building Tree Forts
  • Digging for Quarts
  • Playing Cars with HotWheels
  • Six by Six’s
  • GI JOE
  • Scary Storms
  • Bonfires
  • Bebeguns
  • Big Wheels
  • Puddles
  • this could go on and on…

I’m sure you could say the same, I hope your kids can too… :-)

This is Kristin, there are a lot of things I could say. Basically Kristen is cool, I think Brody nailed it right on the head when he married this girl. They are perfect for each other.

this-is-kristen.jpg
Yes I realize I spelled Kristin wrong…

I’ll keep this short and sweet cause it’s weird writing nice things about your best friends wife.

From what I’ve seen over the last week I am blown away at how much of a great mom and a wife Kristin is. Not to say I was expecting less, I’ve just been away for so long. I was Brody’s best man and I’ve known both of them for a long time, and now all of a sudden there’s a family. Thing is last time I really hung out with both of them there was only one kid, and now there’s 3.

Kristin you’re doing an awesome job. Don’t let this post weird you out…

I went to the Mellow Mushroom with Brody, Kristen and fam, and Tracy Edwards and Friends. It was good pizza and a good time. In fact we even saw a person get put into an ambulance.

Basically we met up with Tracy as she and some of her friends were passing through town. (I can’t remember why) We went and had some good pizza and had some good laughs. Tracy and her friends are really cool. It’s always fun to hang out with fellow bloggers and talk about all that stuff.

ambulance.jpgAll the while we were being entertained by some strange deal that was going on outside. Normally you would think that if an ambulance showed up that something serious is going on, but for some reason it wasn’t. All we could see was a pair of feet that made it look like there was a person laying under their car. They weren’t but they were laying next to their car, and it was raining. In the end they were put on a stretcher cart thing and put into the ambulance.

We were concerned at first, but then we noticed that no one out side was too concerned so it became a spectator sport. Anyway it was fun.

This week I would like to talk about my family. I mentioned a lot of them individually, but we had a bbq last night and it was fun.

trinity-w-grass-hat.jpgThis is Trinity, she the crazy weird one that likes to strange things. As soon as I took my hat off to set it on the table she ran over and climbed around till she could get it. She grabbed it and ran off. A few minutes later I looked out and there was Trinity filling my hat with grass.

I have no idea why, but really do kids need a reason for anything?
:-)

tommy-w-snake.jpgThis is Tommy, he’s the oldest of the my sister kids. He’s the one that has all the pets and reptiles. Apparently they thought it was a good idea to pull my dads snake out and play with it.

Not sure how you play with a snake, but they were having fun.

Family is an amazing thing. I don’t really have to say much more than that. I spent a lot of time with my family while I was home, and I can’t wait to come back.

You probably don’t need to tell you this, but if you have family than you should hang out with them while you can.

I went to my sister and brother in-law’s house for my nephews birthday Wednesday night. We had fun and I got the grand tour of all the toys, pets and treehouse. Kid are crazy.

Granat-treehouse-w320.jpgThis is the Tree House, it’s not much to look at from this angle, but they have a full Kitchen, Office, Living Room and a few other areas that I didn’t really understand what they were talking about.

I’ll never forget those day as a kid where you spent all summer building just so you can get up there and have lunch.

tommy-turtles-w320.jpgThese are the Turtles, I don’t remember their names. There was just too many kids trying to tell me at once, but these guys really like to swim around when you get next to their cage. The boys were telling me that it’s because they think I’m going to feed them.

Turtles are awesome. :-)

trinity-w320.jpgThis is Trinity, she’s the weird/crazy one, and the youngest. When we got to the house she was fast asleep, then we woke her up for dinner. By the end of dessert and during present time I was the focus of her silly faces, and I seemed to be the most fun thing to climb.

Life at home with my parents is always so relaxing. There is never a lack of things going on, it seems like there is always about 4 or 5 people here at all times. Today was a very relaxing evening of home cooked chicken and baked potatoes, then it was out to the porch to just sit around and talk about nothing.

Turns out my parents have a dog pack at the house right now. My brother David brought his dogs over and my sister has her dogs over plus there are the two my parents have. Its like a freaking zoo here. I’ll get to the other animals another time.

Hope you all don’t mind but I’m probably going to be doing a lot of reminiscing about home and family over the next week. I just can’t pass up the opportunity to post about the things here and my family that I am going to miss so much when I leave.

This Ethan my nephew, Jonathan and Adrian’s little boy.

This is my parents front yard with their dog pack. (gosh I hate little dogs, you know the one that never stop yelping like someone is pulling the claws out)

When I was young there were many things that my family used to do on a weekly basis. One thing in particular, that I always liked, was the 49cent Sunday Tacos. Sunday was the day at the local TacoBell in Auburn, back in what?, probably 86-87. I honestly can’t be to sure about how often we really went for Taco Sunday, but I can tell you this. Amongst a lot of childhood memories about who knows what, I’ll always remember the one taco sunday that we went to Ashford Park and ate at the picnic tables.

There isn’t any special event or occasion, just the memory of my family and I like it.taco.jpg

Are there any other random family memories???

I was sitting in my Friends car this morning, catching a ride home from the night before. (Jim and Lindsey) We were headed south on I205 as we were passing Oregon City by the Clackamas River. I started to think about all the people I’ve met here and all the fun time I’ve had with my friends.

We had a bbq Saturday night and a lot of my friends from my old job came over and we all hung out and had a good time. But, I started to realize, again, that there is a good chance that I wont see many of these people ever again. Perhaps I’ll move back to Portland in the future, maybe not. One thing is for sure, take the chance while you have it and hang out with your friends. Perhaps you’ll never move, but I don’t think we really ever know what is going to happen.

norm-jon-wedding-w250.jpgThanks to my sister (Joy) here is pic of Norman, my brother. Normally I would have a picture of the person I’m writing about, but if you can believe it I don’t have one on my computer. This is the logo to the none profit organization my brother started about 4yrs ago. I’m not going to take the time to spell out all the his site offers, but I will copy and past a little.

Our Vision

Reader’s Circle aspires to renew the spirit of dialogue that animated the coffeehouses of early modern England and the salons of Enlightenment France. Franklin’s Junto and the Lyceums and townhall meetings of the 19th century also suggest the tone of American life we hope to facilitate. We feel book clubs bring people into the public conversation in a meaningful way, and reader’s circles are a format that we hope adds a new dynamic to the mix of social gatherings that make for a vibrant democracy.

Norman’s influence in the Reading community has began to span on a global scale. If you have done a search for a local book store or reading club you have most likely come across his site. It’s amazing what he has accomplished over the last 4yrs, and at his current pace I believe he will be leading the way for ‘Reader Based’ social networking outside of the web. (actual, physical interaction)

Just imagine if you had the chance to meet up with a group of bloggers face to face once a month, and simply exchange conversation and ideas. Check him out, and maybe you’ll want to start up a Readers Circle for bloggers.
