Mini Twit

Here is a program for those of you that spend a good amount of time on the computer. If you’re like me, you have random thoughts shoot into your head now and then that you really want to say, but no one is there to here. Maybe one reason twitter was created, I’m not sure if anyone really knows yet.

mini-twit-box.gifSo this little program makes it nice for people like me do exactly what FireFox already dose. But if your also as lazy as me you wont want to open a new browser window and go to your twitter page. (by the way Im too cheap to pay for texting from my phone) So here you have it a tiny little window that dings when you twit.

It’s really cool except that you have to put you username and login every time. (course I haven’t checked the preferences yet) This kinda defeats the laziness factor.

2 “Mini Twit”

Hi there Randy. I know you’re probably super busy but… I’ve got a question about my dinky little Wordpress blog and you said if I ever had a question I could ask so (well maybe you said a suggestion, but if so then my suggestion is to please answer my question- ha). Here it goes…

I can’t figure out how to get my Twitter to show up on my blog. Yes, I know the “simple” bit they put on there about just copying and pasting the HTML code onto your blog’s homepage. Obviously, I can’t just go to my blog and do that without going “into” it via the site management/dashboard stuff. The thing is when I dink around in there I don’t see anything that says, “Hey, Melody. Please post that little HTML code right here and then click save and VOILA all is well and your Twitter is up. Yea!” And, yes I need it about that straightforward. :)

So, can you help my der, der self out with this?

Oh, also what about that cool little green “Share This” widget to go at the bottom of each of my posts? I love those. they make everything so easy to pass around or email to others. Can I put that on there?

Thanks in advance and God bless - Melody Milbrandt

    P.S.

If the answer to both the “Twitter” thing and the “Share This” widget thing is NO, perhaps you could cleverly draw it out so I won’t feel so stupid posting this big long comment. :)

    Have a peaceful, fun day.

Melody - I just got back from WordPress.com and as it turns out they don’t let people put embed or script in there sidebar widgets.

Kinda sucks because thats what the Twitter widgets rely on. I guess wordpress.com just hasn’t gotten in touch with Twitter yet. I would expect a TwitterWidget to appear in your in your Widgets area with in the next year. I’m sure a lot of people want it.

And, no problem with the questions. Anytime.! And if you have other questions that you don’t feel fit in the comments section you can use the contact page.

    later.
